QWhat makes Durafast Elite different from a standard training jammer?
Durafast Elite uses a 230gsm heavy-gauge polyester construction that is 100% chlorine-proof throughout its lifetime. TYR guarantees 300 or more hours of performance before any degradation in shape or colour, making it significantly more durable than standard polyester training suits which typically last 100 to 150 hours.
QWhy train in a jammer rather than a brief?
Jammers offer a longer leg cut than a brief, which reduces drag through the water and provides additional muscle compression during training. Many competitive swimmers train in jammers to replicate the feel of a race suit, and they are also a popular choice for swimmers who prefer more coverage in the water.
QHow do I choose the right size?
TYR sizing runs close to body measurements. We recommend measuring your waist and hips and comparing against our TYR Mens Swimwear Size Guide. Waist is the primary measurement for jammers. If you are between sizes, go up for comfort. Our team is always happy to advise.
QHow do I look after a Durafast Elite jammer?
Rinse thoroughly in cool fresh water immediately after every use. Hand wash with a gentle detergent if needed and air dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or wring. See our full product aftercare guide for details.

Allens Swimwear is a family-run business founded in 1976 by Dennis Allen and his daughter Linda Beal. It started from a genuine need. “With 2 swimmers in the family it was often difficult to find the right kit, so dad and I took the plunge and started selling to local swimmers at our local pool in Kingsbury out of a suitcase and we’ve never looked back.” Today, Linda, her husband Richard, and three of their children Danny, Will and Jenna still run the business together. The suitcase may be long gone, but the founding principle of helping swimmers get the right kit remains exactly the same.
